Theogene's Story
In 1994 the killers attacked his home killing his parents and two older brothers. After they killed them they burnt the bodies inside the house. Theogene hid inside a water tank for three days, but then came out hoping to find food and water. He met a friend of his father who nursed him and took him to live with him and his family. Unfortunately the man died later and his family chased him away. He was then homeless and stayed with various people before meeting Solace and his friend Eric, with whom he now lives.
Theogene is now sponsored by a mother and her son from Scotland. The sponsorship has made a huge difference to his life as this film explains. Margaret and her son Craig have had the enjoyable experience of visiting Theogene in the small room where he lives with his best friend. Both boys are committed Christians and Theogene thanks God for the support from Solace Ministries and his sponsors.
Sponsorship changes lives. Sponsorship is more than money. It is a sign to the poor and vulnerable that someone cares. It is a sign of hope that someone will come alongside and help them climb out of poverty and hopelessness into a new life of hope.
