NTARAMA

Memorial, Ntamara

In Ntarama Solace ministries with the support of Comfort Rwanda has purchased large fields for the widows groups to grow crops to sell. Crops include; avocado, orange, pineapple, bananas, peanuts.

The local authorities have given a large parcel of land to Solace – sadly left empty after the genocide. This land has room for twenty houses and we believe that all those twenty houses will be built and provide a home and community for survivors at present homeless. Solaces have asked to call the village “Comfort Rwanda Village”. There are also plans to build water well here - this will prevent people from having to walk long distances to fetch water.

Archie and Morag Bathgate and Joe from the fundraising group were at the first laying of the foundation stone in April.
