Comfort Rwanda is committed to working with local Christian partners in Rwanda - Solace Ministries and L’Église Vivante (the Living Church). This means that your gifts are channelled directly to the point of need. Comfort Rwanda sends 100% of all gifts to Rwanda and our partners are careful to maximise the use of those gifts for the needs they are assigned to.

Leaders of Solace
“widows communities” at a training
session
to help them comfort, help and minister to other
survivors.
All our funds go directly
to our partners who are able to judge the most pressing
needs and the best use of resources. Local communities
often have a clearer idea of the solution to their
problems and are aware of the kind of obstacles that
need overcome to set projects up. For example, Solace
have recently set up a “Demonstration Farm”
to help train widows and orphans in farming techniques
to increase efficiency and effectiveness on their small
farms. This ensures that the widows communities which
are supported by the cattle project have been given the
right help and training to look after the cattle and
get the best return for the investment.
Our partnership
with L’Église Vivante has enabled us to provide
schooling for thirty of the most needy children they
identified.
Partnering local
organisations also ensures that there is a sense of
ownership of the projects. They are involved in the
decision making and development of the projects and
have an invested interest in its positive outcome.
Our partnerships also mean that we have built up
excellent relationships with Solace and L’Église
Vivante which enables us to discuss funding needs, view
the effectiveness of projects, plan for the long term
future, meet emergencies if they arise and target the
most needy. For example, in the recent East African
drought both our partners identified especially
hard-hit areas and were able to match our donations to
the greatest needs and provide food for over two
thousand people.
Our partners have proved themselves reliable,
accountable and trustworthy and all funds are used for
the purpose they were designated for.
Working with
local partners helps build bridges for God’s love
to flow.
